Sambucus canadensis, or what we call our American elderberry is much different than it's European counterpart, Sambucus nigra. The American elderberry is able to be processed without boiling, therefore maintaining more of the health promoting qualities of the berry. Our elderberries are grown in Hartsburg, Missouri and we source from other American elderberry farmers across the US
